In 1979 Jim and his father
were looking for a drama club to join. They found the Little Theatre,
and Jim's first role was the small but crucial part of Fred Beenstock
in "Hobson's Choice" (1980). Since then he's played a
variety of characters, including three murderers, four detectives,
the ghost of Lord Byron, a curate, an entire restaurant staff (yes,
in the same play), and the anthropomorphic personification of Death!
He met his wife, Gill at
the Little Theatre and they were married in 1984. They have two
children, Simon (who has recently acted in 'I Thought I Heard a Rustling') and Jennifer, who has
recently acted in 'Love Me Slender'.
