A complex and
thought-provoking play juxtaposing the last few days of the year 1799
(the eve of a new century, whence the house buzzes with scientific
experiments, furtive romance and farcical amateur dramatics) with the
year 1999 - a year of scientific chaos, cloning and genetic engineering...
And in the cellar of the
same house a dark secret buried for 200 years...
Featuring fictional
interplay between local historical figure Armstrong and Roget (of
thesaurus fame) the play switches between telling the stories of two
families occupying the same house 200 years apart. |
